About Paula Stirewalt
My name is Paula, I grew up with horses and have been in the equine industry for 25+ years working and competing in a variety of disciplines both English and Western. I am a Colorado State 4H horse judge, and I received my Equine Sports Massage Certification in 2010 from Equissage in VA.
I have found massage and bodywork to be a valuable compliment to good horsemanship and effective communication. My goal every time I work with a horse is to have and awareness of the animals needs, and to work with the intention of providing a relationship between horse and owner that is safe, confident, successful, and enjoyable.
Colorado is my home and has been all my life, my favorite way to see all this great state has to offer is from the back of a horse. I have found some amazing places to ride here, and love sharing the joy of the trail with others. I have found that many people love to do the same, but sometimes just don't know where to start. I like to make my main focus to be building a solid trail horse by preparing horse and rider for what they will need to develop a safe relationship so they can enjoy all the beauty these great mountains have to offer. I am prior Military and a SERE (survival school) graduate, I love to incorporate my skills in the backcountry with horsemanship, and share that knowledge with those that love to learn!
I never stop learning, some of my favorite mentors who offer a tremendous amount of knowledge to the equine community and have a huge variety of easily accessible information out there include; Martin Black, Ty Evans, Buck Brannaman, Pat Puckett, Joe Wolter, Bryan Neubert, Mark Rashid... and the list goes on. I am always happy to share other places where I have gained knowledge.
