Lighten Up!
New for Fall 2022, I am introducing an opportunity for you to try a new way and fun way for you to get your daily exercise in and your stress out! This one is perfect for the mom's with kids at school and those looking for a new way to get increase their physical and mental fitness. These one on one sessions will take place Mon - Thurs from 9 - 1 and are designed to help build rider core engagement, balance, flexibility, and access those muscle groups in your legs that the gym doesn't even know about.
The average person burns 300-600 calories an hour riding a horse at a walk!
Unlike riding lessons, you will spend your entire session in the saddle, we will work horses on long even strides at a walk and trot always remaining within the riders comfort and skill level. I am encouraging beginners with these sessions, but always welcome to all levels of riders.
Why does horseback riding help me 'Lighten up'?
Contrary to popular belief, the horse does not do all the work. While your body is just sitting on a horse at a walk, you are using your glutes, hamstrings, quads, calves, and abs... to name a few! You are also increasing flexibility through your hips, knees and ankles moving with the natural rhythm of the horse, and horseback riding has been proven to be a natural stress reliever through the serotonin release your brain provides while riding and working along horses.
How it works:
I will have 3 spots open everyday Monday - Thursday; 9:00am, 10:30am, and Noon. Each spot is one hour long, you show up (I highly encourage boots and long pants), I will have the horse tacked and ready to go, you climb on and we walk and trot our highly experienced horses around a large track working on the riders movement and communication with the horse.
Prices: 10 punch card - $500
5 punch card - $300
Drop in / Try it out - $65
You can reserve your spot for the week via text 303-746-8830. We do request that cancellations are made more than 24 hours in advance as it takes quite a bit to make sure our horses are ready to go. One punch will still be used if a session is cancelled in less than 24 hours - But I am a mom too, and understand sick kiddo's! So don't stress if your last minute cancellation is out of your hands.
Weather:
Due to the fact that long strides with horse and rider are best made over long distances, and those long distances need to be outside - our sessions will be a go unless the weather is... <20 degrees, torrential downpours, blizzard conditions, or severe lightening within 10 miles. We do ride if the weather is... Hot, cold (above 20 degrees), windy, light snow or rain, or there is mud or snow present. If a session does need to be cancelled for severe weather, as much notice as possible will be given and the session will be rescheduled. Above all, I encourage consistency and fortitude. I find that working with horses encourages not only physical strength, but also mental strength. Maintaining a steady schedule to riding helps the body create muscle memory which grows with each and every session.
*I do provide a rain slicker is the weather is wet, but ask that participants dress appropriately to the current weather*
Where do I need to go to take these awesome classes?

This isn't a riding lesson.. We do talk about horsemanship, working with the horse, balance and safety... but there is going to be a focus on rider relaxation right from the get go, which really sets these sessions apart from your average riding lesson.
I am happy to teach about tacking up and untacking, groundwork and all the other wonderful aspects of horsemanship in a separate scheduled riding lesson.
